Director of People Operations (Year Round)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Developing and implementing strategies for attracting, developing, and retaining top talent within our businesses
2. Managing and advancing our purpose, values and mission to create high levels of employee engagement and ultimately a market-leading culture
3. Putting the team in place to manage and deliver the day-to-day execution of employee programs to drive employee satisfaction, retention and a strong company culture
4. Putting the team in place to manage and deliver the day-to-day execution of health, safety and compliance programs for employees and guests that anticipate and mitigate
circumstances that can cause injury, illness, and hardship to the employee or guest and their families
5. Using a hands on approach, coaches, guides and provides feedback and advice to team members to help them make good decisions; continually provides a proactive presence and encourages and motivates the team to take the initiative and be accountable for executing operations consistently to standards
6. All aspects of the employee life cycle, including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and career development
7. In coordination with the General Manager, developing and managing compensation and benefits programs that are competitive and aligned with the organization's overall goals
8. In coordination with division Directors and department Managers, leading organization-wide risk assessments, reviews and self-inspections; provides analysis and interpretation of results, recommends appropriate corrective actions, communicates results and follows up on issues or concerns with Directors and/or Managers until resolution is achieved
9. In coordination with division Directors and department Managers, formulates and implements the use of job standards, processes and measurements to create training
programs and a performance management system that ensures the consistent achievement of desired results and provides regular, constructive feedback to employees
regarding their performance and ways they can grow and develop within their job and the organization
10. Ensuring compliance with all employment and safety laws and regulations
11. Maintaining and revising, when needed, all pertinent policies and procedures to remain compliant and to achieve the organization’s objectives and strategies
12. Developing and managing analytics and metrics to measure the effectiveness of programs and initiatives
13. Leading projects or initiatives as needed to support the overall purpose, values, mission and objectives of our businesses
14. Performing other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
● Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
● Three (3) years of experience in a field related to the position
● Three (3) years of experience working with teams on collaborative projects
● Three (3) years of direct managerial and staff supervisory experience
● Intermediate or above skiing or snowboarding ability PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
● Master’s degree in management, human resources, business administration or a related field of study to the position and/or commensurate managerial experience in a related field
● Five (5) years of experience leading teams, businesses, organizations and direct reports to verifiable success
● Direct work experience that has led to creation of a positive work environment and culture
● Direct experience working within the mountain resort industry
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Constantly using hearing, near and far acuity, depth perception, color and field of vision. Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, climbing, handling and feeling. Occasional exposure to fumes, odors, gasses, mechanical and electrical hazards may occur when visiting maintenance facilities and teams.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job, year-round, within the environment, facilities, divisions and departments of a mountain resort. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, vehicles and heavy equipment, and is occasionally exposed to outdoor, year-round risks associated with an alpine/mountain environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
