Transportation Supervisor (Year Round Position)
Transportation Job Overview:
This is an hourly full time year-round position with benefits. $20.00 to $22.00 per hour

The Transportation Supervisor works directly with the Transportation Manager to run and
operate a fleet of twelve vehicles. And effectively supervise and lead employees on a
daily basis. The department runs seven days a week throughout the year. The
supervisor's current operating schedule is very flexible throughout the work week.
The supervisor will oversee all vehicle Maintenance requirements for the vehicles in the
transportation department. The supervisor will also be required to train new hires,
efficiently maintain a safety program with monthly requirements. The supervisor abides
by Public Utilities Commission PUC, Federal Transit Association FTA, Department of
Transportation DOT, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Association FMCSA, guidelines. Also
ensures safe and efficient transportation for both employees and guests alike.
Job Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Adept in leading employees, with excellent
communication and customer relations skills.
Fundamental mechanical knowledge of
vehicles and vehicle maintenance needs.
Basic knowledge of Purgatory Resort and
surrounding area preferred.
Strong computer software skills including email, accounting programs, google docs,
Microsoft office, excel, limo anywhere are needed.
Must be able to safely operate a vehicle in adverse and changing road conditions.
Essential that you can make quick and sound decisions in potentially hazardous driving
situations.
High school diploma or GED preferred
College degree preferred
Required Experience:
◦ Must be 21 years or older. A minimum of three years management or supervisor
experience is required.
◦ CDL Class B or Class A license with Passenger Endorsement (P2). (willing to train
the right applicant)
● Must pass a pre-employment drug test. Will be subject to random drug and
alcohol testing per CDL testing pool requirements under FMCSA regulations.
◦ Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets Purgatory Resort insurance
requirements.
◦ Ability to pass a DOT physical.
◦ Some holidays and weekends required
◦ Some overtime required
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Communicate effectively with employees and guests in regards to resort information,
and guest concerns/problems.
Answer phones and handle guest reservations, processing of guest payments when
completing reservations.
Responsible for maintaining the Vehicle Maintenance Program within the transportation
department.
Acquire purchase approval from manager and schedule vehicle
maintenance work for any vehicle problems or vehicle maintenance needs within 3-5
days of noted issue with vehicle.
Ensure vehicles are clean, maintained, and in good
working order.
Schedule drivers to clean vehicles.
Responsible for training and learning the courier position and offering support for courier
duties when needed.
Working directly with the courier to learn the position and perform
the duties should the courier not be able to or be out on leave.
Other duties as assigned by the Transportation Manager.
Familiar with and follow all safety, DOT/PUC, and FTA regulations.
Maintain PUC and DOT licensing and scheduled filings.
Update PUC licensing permits with management for all PUC operating licenses. Maintain all existing requirements according to PUC license and DOT number pertaining to rules, regulations, and guidelines.
Maintain database for driver files following expiration dates for DL, physicals, and
permits.
Daily accounting of department billing needs. Provide quarterly billing information to the
department manager for Passenger Mileage Tax and La Plata Airport tax.
Develop and maintain driver schedules for reservations through LimoAnywhere software.
Including guest billing for Purgatory “call and demand service”.
Schedule shuttles for weddings and event transportation, homeowner pickups, airport reservation, and more.
Closely monitor employee performance to ensure that all company and lease vehicles
are being operated in a safe and responsible manner, to minimize damage to property.
Perform driver road tests with new hire employees and complete required documents.
Develop and maintain a functioning transportation department safety program.
Lead a monthly safety meeting with employees on specific safety related topics.
Document all steps of the program. Implement and enforce safe operational policies and procedures
for vehicles and staff.
Communicate effectively with other resort management.
Maintain current CDL [Class B or A with a P2 (passenger and air-brake endorsements)]
and drive vehicles when required.
Other duties as assigned by the department Manager.
Working environment/Physical Activities:
15% of the workday is spent driving vehicles, often in extreme and/or adverse weather
conditions including extreme cold and snow. 85% of the workday is spent in a normal
office environment. Occasional exposure to non-harmful fumes, odors, dusts, mists,
and gasses. Potential hazards include but are not limited to: mechanical, electrical, and
road hazards. Occasionally necessary to "dig out" and push vans from stuck locations.
Frequently stoops, crouches, reaches, and handles objects. Constant use of near and
far acuity, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision are essential to job
performance. Alertness, spatial perception, judgment, concentration, patience are
required abilities.
