Visiting Media Hosting Program
Thank you for your interest in Purgatory Resort! Purgatory is always willing to help journalists with their research and development of media coverage for print, digital and broadcast media outlets. Since we receive a large volume of media hosting requests throughout the year, the following media hospitality policy and hosting request form allow us to provide the best quality and level of assistance possible.
- Regional media and broadcast crews interested in shooting onsite at Purgatory Resort must contact us as soon as possible, and requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
- Each request is assessed based on the type and extent of potential coverage, and a decision is made on the level of support that Purgatory can provide.
- Purgatory assists journalists, freelancers and bloggers but typically cannot accommodate spouses, children or visitors.
- Final decisions are at the discretion of the Purgatory communications team and may be dependent upon situations outside of these guidelines.
Complimentary lift tickets may be issued to media on assignment, subject to availability. Lift ticket requests must be made at least two weeks in advance. Media passes will be available at the season pass office from 8 am – 4 pm. Photo identification is required.
Purgatory Resort’s lodging is privately owned. As a result, Purgatory cannot guarantee complimentary or discounted lodging for media. However, we will do our best to accommodate media on assignment who intend to write about lodging properties, depending on availability. Because lodging space is limited, please contact us at least four weeks in advance to make this request.
Dogs are welcome at Purgatory Resort as long as they are leashed and accompanied by their owner at all times. Some lodging units are dog friendly, depending on availability.
Media traveling with pets will be responsible for a pet cleaning fee of $250 per unit. No more than 2 dogs are allowed in each unit at a time, regardless of size. Dogs may not be left unattended at any time, either in the unit, your vehicle or the base area.
Activities & Events
Purgatory may provide complimentary or discounted activities or event tickets, such as lessons, rentals, activities or event tickets to media on assignment who intend to write about these activities, depending on availability. Please contact us at least four weeks in advance to make this request.
