Spring Skiing Update: Schedule Changes & Exciting Events Ahead!

Happy first day of Spring!

We are winding down the peak spring break period and have confirmed updates to the spring event and operating schedules to reflect some upcoming, very warm weather.

To ensure the show goes on, we are moving our annual spring rite of passage, the Pond Skim, forward to Sunday, March 30. We made snow this season through February 2 and produced the most snow in our history, but the upcoming forecast may greatly reduce the snowpack we need to construct the pond if we wait until April 13. So, let’s have the party sooner rather than later!

With the same impact in mind, this Sunday, March 23 will be the last day of operations for Legends Express (Lift 8), Grizzly Double (Lift 5), Twilight Double (Lift 4), B4 Magic Carpet and Dante’s Lodge. Get up here this weekend for your last turns on the far west side of the mountain and your last drinks and lunches at Dante’s Cafe and the Backside Bistro for this season. We expect to continue to operate Hermosa Park Express (Lift 3) through Sunday, March 30 or until the creek at the bottom of Lift 3 becomes impassable (whichever comes first). The beginner lifts in the Columbine base area (Graduate Lift 7, Columbine Lift 9 and the Columbine Carpet) will turn through Sunday, March 30.

For the month of April, we will operate Purgatory Express (Lift 1) and Engineer Double (Lift 2), Fridays through Sundays, until April 20 (while conditions permit). All valid 2024/25 season passes, including Weekday passes, will be honored each operating day for the remainder of the season at Purgatory Resort only, as will all new 2025/26 passes with our “buy now, ride now” benefit.

There is still a lot of great skiing and riding left this season. Get out and enjoy the snow while it lasts this spring.
