We’ve heard every reason there is to not get a season pass, but we do things a little different in the Power Pass Family.
We’ve heard every reason in the book as to why people don’t get a season pass when they really want one. We’ve listed some of those reasons here so that you can stop gaslighting yourself, and grab your pass before the season starts!
I don’t know if I’ll even be able to make it to the mountain more than once a week, if that. Why do I need a pass then?
Let’s start here. There are 23 weeks this season. The most expensive pass is currently the Adult Power Pass at $1249. If you only ski one day a week, that means 23 days, and $55 per day! Our average ticket price for the 24-25 season was $104. Which means even skiing 11 days on a full Power Pass is a good deal, and locks in your unlimited access.
“But Purg has lift tickets starting at $9… I could just buy tickets instead.”
Sure. You could do that. But you’d have to buy early to get the lowest prices, and you’d have to select your specific days carefully. That means no calling our from work for a *cough* sick day *cough* when there is a surprise powder day, unless you are ready to pay the day-of price for a ticket. With a season pass you have the power to ski whenever you want, without the gamble.
Skiing is so expensive even if the pass is affordable…
We know that snow sports aren’t cheap, and neither are the local vacation homes during winter. But that’s why your season pass comes with a bunch of benefits, Including:
- Access to some of the best skiing the West has to offer at: Purgatory, Snowbowl, Sipapu, Pajarito, Nordic Valley, Brian Head, Willamette Pass, Lee Canyon and Sandia Peak.
- The Power Pass and 12 Day Power Pass offer 10 interconnected days at Valle Nevado and La Parva in Chile for the 2025 winter season – no blackout dates.
- Discounted lift tickets at any of the US Power Pass Resorts
- Discounts on Lodging, Dining, Rentals, Lessons, Retail, and MORE at all of the US Power Pass resorts.
- Free days to our partner resorts (Yup, you get even more access than just the Power Pass collective of mountains)
- Below the Summit Access: Passholders enjoy exclusive discounts and deals with businesses around Durango on Food, Activities, Wellness, and more!
Purgatory is also going even further to make it affordable by making package deals, lodging discounts, offering exclusive passholder flash sales,
I don’t need all the benefits of a full pass.
Good thing we aren’t a big-box mountain with only one option. We have multiple passes with different benefits, ranging from unlimited full access, to picking the weekdays you want on your pass. Check out the guide here!
What if there’s no snow?
No crazy deep pow at your home mountain this week? Good news is your pass includes access to 9 other amazing mountains in the West, and days at our partner mountains. With your passholder benefits, you can get discounted lodging that makes it even more affordable to go storm chasing this season. Trying to chase down those deep days? Check out Willamette, where on average they get over 400″ annually.
The lift lines are so insane at resorts during the winter. I don’t wan’t to sit in traffic and pay for parking just to get 3 runs!
We have great news. Parking is still free at Purgatory, we aren’t located on i70, and our variable pricing tickets keep crowds to a minimum. Why are we such a well kept secret gem of the ski industry? Because there’s never been a viral video of our lift lines.
If I get a pass, that means the kids need passes too.
Not a problem here, because we’ve kept the best family benefit in the industry: Children 12 and under, always ski free at all of our mountains with the Power Kids Pass.
But what if I get hurt early season? That’s a waste of pass!
We understand the unpredictable nature of life. That’s why we recommend adding pass insurance during check out. If you fall under the covered incidents, you have a chance to get a refund.
**Terms and Conditions apply. See page for details.
That’s a big investment…. I can’t spend that all at once!
That’s why we made our Payment Plan. instead of having to pay the full price up front, take advantage of our Pass Payment Plan. No credit check. No extra down payment. Just an easier way to start planning the winter you deserve. If you buy before November 7th, you can still split your pass into 3 payments before prices go up.
How it works:
1. Choose the right season pass for you
2. At checkout, select the payment plan option.
3. That’s it! Your pass will be divided into monthly payments charged automatically on the 1st of each month*.
