Dana Ariel & the Comin Up Roses are an Americana/Soul collective based out of Southwest, Colorado. Beginning in 2021, the band sprung into action playing locally around the Durango area. Led by lead singer and guitarist Dana Ariel, the band has moved through many phases of growth and change. Today they bring an eclectic sound with Dana’s atmospheric vocals, Alex Forsthoff on lead guitar, Jerad Bussell on the ‘slap happy’ bass, and Cameron Wright rocking the drums. Dana’s songwriting appeals to a wide variety of audiences of all age groups and musical tastes. She has shared the stage and worked alongside bands such as Hello DollFace, Elder Grown, and Alpen Rising. The welcoming and lively atmosphere the band delivers to each show sets a similar tone to bands such as Lake Street Dive, whereas their paradisiac sound reminds you of the esteemed Sara Watkins. The Comin Up Roses are sure to bring people of all backgrounds together and provide a unified environment through Dana Ariel’s songwriting.
An aggregation of acoustic musicians from the hills of Southwest Colorado, People We Know has coalesced into a solid group of enthusiastic mountain-grass pickers. Featuring members of former Durango groups the Outskirts and Fellowship of the Strings, People We Know brings a new take on high altitude string music. Born amidst late night festival levity, they explore the limits of bluegrass while testing their early morning imaginations. With Alex Forsthoff on guitar, Jeff Berman on big fiddle, Aaron Cooklin on mandolin, and Mark Walser on small fiddle, People We Know will take you on a musical ride to all ends of the mountain-grass spectrum. Their highly anticipated shows, located from one San Juan mountain valley to the next, range from up-tempo foot stomping bluegrass to deliberate ballads.
