Activities

Q: What are your hours of operation?

A: Daily operations are June 19th – August 15th. Weekend operations follow from August 22nd – October 6th plus September 6th (Labor Day). We will be open from 9am-4pm during our normal periods. During peak season — July 1st – July 31st — we will be open 9am-5pm. Learn more.

Q: Are there any summer season passes available for activities?

A: Yes! The Summer Adventure Pass offers access to daily activities, with the exception of the Purgatory Bike Park. Purchase yours here.

Q: What activities will be open this summer?

A: This summer, we will offer the Inferno Mountain Coaster, alpine slide (through September 6), lift-accessed mountain biking, scenic chairlift rides, treasure panning, boating and paddle boarding on Twilight Lake and a kids off-road track. Learn more.

Q: How do I get tickets?

A: All tickets must be purchased online. Upon your arrival, you will be directed to the ticket office, where you will present your ticket purchase confirmation and will receive a wristband that provides access to our activities. Purchase your tickets here.

Q: What's included in a ticket?

A: Activities are offered in two sets of half-day increments. Our morning session offers access to activities from 9am – 12:30pm (9am-1pm during our peak period), and the afternoon session offers access to activities from 12:30pm – 4pm (1pm-5pm during our peak period). The AM/PM session tickets include access to all activities. Ride multiple times on the alpine slide and scenic chairlift. Limit one time for the Inferno Mountain Coaster (if selected), treasure panning and Twilight Lake board & boat. Learn more.

Q: Can I purchase a full day activity ticket?

A: At this time, we are only offering AM and PM sessions; however, you may purchase both if you would like to enjoy activities all day long. Purchase your tickets here.

Q: Do I have to make a reservation?

A: While reservations are not required, all tickets must be purchased online. We recommend purchasing ahead of your trip to ensure a smooth process when picking up your wristbands from the ticket office.

Q: Is there an age/height restriction for activities?

A: For the Inferno Mountain Coaster: Drivers must be minimum 52 inches. Passengers must be a minimum 36 inches with a driver 16 years or older. Must be at least 9 years old to ride alone. For the alpine slide: Riders must be at least 3 years old and 36″ tall to ride with an adult. Riders must be at least 6 years old and 48″ tall to ride alone. For the kids off-road track: Drivers must be at least 10 years old to drive the Hammerhead. Riders must be at least 5 years old to ride with an adult. 

Q: I don't see an option to purchase tickets on certain dates. Why is that?

A: If you do not see the activity session you are looking for on the calendar, we are sold out. Please select another date.

Q: What is your weather policy?

A: Weather in the mountains can change quickly and unexpectedly. Our Operations Team follows a strict inclement weather protocol with guest and employee safety as their top priority. Under the following circumstances, a prorated credit or refund may be available should inclement weather force suspension of operations. Single-use, AM/PM Session tickets are eligible for future credit or refund under the Weather Adjustment Policy: duration of suspension is under 2 hours, the guest will receive a prorated credit for the 2021 summer season; duration of suspension is 2 hours or more, the guest will receive a prorated refund on credit card used for the original purchase.

Q: Are activity tickets included in my lodging reservation?

A: Activity tickets are not included in your lodging reservation, and must be purchased separately from your lodging accommodations. Purchase your tickets here.

 

Purgatory Bike Park

Q: What tickets are offered for the Bike Park?

A: Purgatory Express chairlift access to the Bike Park delayed until July. At this time, we are currently offering a $30 personal vehicle shuttle ticket until the Purgatory Express is back up and running. Learn more.

Q: Are there any summer season passes available for mountain biking?

A: Yes! The Mountain Bike Power Pass offers unlimited access to Purgatory, Brian Head Resort, Pajarito Mountain and Spider Mountain. Purchase yours here.

Q: Are e-bikes allowed on the mountain?

A: E-bikes are allowed on the trails departing the Base Area and on the forest service roads around the resort. E-bikes are not allowed on the chairlift.

Q: Can I rent a bike and protective gear?

Q: Do you offer mountain biking lessons?

A: We highly recommend taking a lesson, as our lift-served trails require a certain level of experience to negotiate. Lessons must be reserved at least 24 hours in advance. Learn more.

Around the Resort

Q: We're at the resort, now where do we go?

A: Check out our Resort Maps page for information on where to park, how to navigate the Base Area and where to find our summer activities.

Q: What restaurants are open?

A: All of our Base Area restaurants are open during the summer including Purgy’s Slopeside Grill, Paradise Pizzeria and the Village Market & Deli. The Bear Bar is open for drinks, and the Waffle Cabin serves up sweet treats and snacks.

Q: What trails can I hike on?

A: While the area surrounding Purgatory offers endless hiking trails, the only trail at Purgatory that is open to hikers is the World Cup XC trail. This multi-use, bi-directional trail departs the Base Area. Once out of the Base Area, guests are welcome to hike or run on any of the ski trails, but please note that hiking and running is not permitted on any mountain biking trail at any time.
