GENERAL POLICY: EXPLANATION OF FEES:
A non-taxable fee of $10.00 per night is added to each reservation for Damage Protection. Damage Protection covers unintentional damages to the rental unit that may occur during your stay up to a maximum of $250. Any damages that exceed $250 will be charged to the credit card on file. You may request to have the $10.00 per night fee removed, however a refundable one-time cash deposit of $500 will be due upon arrival. Guests can also donate $1.00 per night to the National Forest Foundation to help support our local forest upon which all of our seasonal activities are enjoyed.
A non-taxable DESTINATION MANAGEMENT FEE of 11.0% and a RESORT FEE of 3% are added to each reservation to cover fees charged by the Durango Mountain Master Association (DMMA) for resort maintenance and amenities.
CANCELLATION POLICY & PAYMENT SCHEDULE
Deposit: First night payment in full. Non-refundable when the reservation is made.
Final Payment: Full and final payment is due 30 days prior to arrival, at which time the reservation is non-refundable and non-changeable.
Cancellation: Reservations canceled at least 30 days prior to arrival are refundable*, excluding deposit. Any changes made to a reservation within the 30-day window are non-refundable and non-changeable.
Guests have up to 24 hours from the time of booking their lodging reservation for a refund. If the guest books within 7 days of the arrival date, the 24-hour cancellation policy is not an option. The 24-hour refund policy applies to all reservations booked directly through the resort.
* Reservations booked through a third party do not qualify for the 24-hour refund policy.
Guests may purchase Trip Protection within 48 hours of first booking the lodging reservation. Trip Protection is available at a rate of 10% of the total lodging reservation value (including taxes and fees). With this purchase, you will receive a full refund (minus the cost of the protection) if you cancel your reservation up until the day of arrival for any of the covered reasons. Trip protection is offered for Purgatory Resort lodging only. Trip Protection is non-refundable.
COVERED – Unforeseeable serious injury or death of the insured, a traveling companion, or a family member. Weather conditions causing a delay of 24 or more hours or cancellation of travel. Home being made uninhabitable by fire, flood, vandalism, burglary, or natural disaster. Being subpoenaed, required to serve jury duty, hijacked, or quarantined. Documentation of proof will be required – An actual examination by the Physician who advises the cancellation must take place before the cancellation is made. Notification to the appropriate travel supplier is required.
NOT COVERED – Carrier caused delays, such as mechanical difficulties. Cancellation or default by airline or tour operator. Change in plans (“I don’t want to go”) normal pregnancy or childbirth, financial, business, or contractual obligations (“My boss changed my vacation,” “I can’t afford to go”). Any government regulation or prohibition, war, civil disorder, nuclear reaction, or contamination. The pre-existing medical condition shows up within 60 days of arrival. Written Deposit Policy: NON-HOLIDAY PERIODS:
A one-night deposit is due at the time of booking and final payment is automatically charged 14 days prior to the arrival date. Deposits for reservations canceled more than 14 days prior to arrival may be credited and applied to a rescheduled trip within two years of the original arrival date. Any changes made to a reservation within 14 days of arrival are non-refundable and non-changeable.
A two-night deposit is due at the time of booking and final payment is automatically charged 30 days prior to arrival. Deposits for reservations canceled more than 30 days prior to arrival may be credited and applied to a rescheduled trip within two years of the original arrival date. Any changes made to a reservation within 30 days of arrival are non-refundable and non-changeable. Included holidays are listed below. Specific holiday dates can be found on the “Policies” tab within each unit listing, as well as email quotes and confirmations.
Check-In: Guests are welcome to check in any time after 4:00 PM mountain standard time. Early check-in requests are NOT guaranteed and are granted according to availability.
Please check in at Purgatory Lodge. The address is 24 Sheol Street, Durango Colorado 81301. Once check-in is complete, a front desk agent will provide you with a map of your rental unit.
Check Out: Check-out time is 10:00 AM mountain standard time.
Pet Policy: Select units in Purgatory Lodge can accommodate dogs no larger than 50 pounds with a non-refundable $250 pet fee to be paid at check-in. Due to the limited availability of pet-friendly units, ALL PETS MUST BE DECLARED AT TIME OF BOOKING. Should you require pet-friendly accommodations, please speak with a reservationist at 1-800-525-0892.
Other Policy: Special requests by guests are acknowledged but are NOT guaranteed. Purgatory Resort strives to fulfill all special requests (Specific unit number, bedding configuration, amenities, etc.) but reserves the right to move reservations before check-in due to owner management requests, compression, maintenance, etc. Guest acknowledges this policy when booking is made.
Children: Persons aged 12 and under are considered a child. All children and infants are included in the maximum occupancy.
