More Terrain, More Snow, More Fun.

Around 14″ fell on Purgatory’s slopes in the past 2 days.

(Washing my car worked.)

It’s hard to believe that it is still technically fall… I thought to myself while walking towards the lift. The brisk air and soft snow didn’t feel like I still need to buy Christmas presents. The day started with some flurries and more importantly, a gaggle of excited locals. On the lift ride up, the conditions shifted from flurries to fog. This was one of the most dynamic storms I’ve skied in a while.

  • foggy llift 6
  • Lift and trees on a powder day
  • Base area snowing
  • snow on some trees

Throughout the day the fog cleared out and rolled in more times than I could count, yet the weather still felt calm. Moments of sunshine peeked through, however quickly covered up by the constantly shifting clouds.

The opening of Upper Catharsis, 666, and Upper Pandemonium were a welcome sight for the advanced crowd. This was either the highlight of your ski day, or a rude awakening that you need to do more squats.
