Lifts:
Must be 3 years old and 36″ or taller to ride any lift. Must be over 6 years old to ride a lift alone. Must be able to fit in chair.
Alpine Slide:
Must be at least 3 years old and 36″ or taller to ride the slide. Children 6 years old and under must ride the lift and sled with an adult. Must be 6+ and at least 48″ tall to ride the slide alone. Max combined or single rider weight can not exceed 300lbs.
Mountain Coaster:
Must be 3 years old and 36″ or taller. Children 9 years old and under must ride as a passenger with a driver 16+ years old.   Children 9+ years and at least 52″ tall can ride alone. All adults must ride alone. Max combined or single rider weight can not exceed 300lbs

Weather in the mountains can change quickly and unexpectedly. Our Operations Team follows a strict inclement weather protocol with guest and employee safety as their top priority.

A refund may be available should inclement weather force the resort to close for the remainder of the day before 2 PM. Refunds will only be eligible on and for the day the product is purchased, and must be redeemed in-person at our Ticket Office within 1 hour of the closure announcement. Guest tickets must be presented at the time of refund request. The percentage of refund will be determined by the usage of the product.

Mountain weather is subject to rapid and unforeseen changes. The Operations Team adheres to a rigorous inclement weather protocol, prioritizing the safety of guests and employees above all else. Operations will resume following the dissipation of adverse weather conditions and the completion of required safety procedures.

Weather Delays vs. Closures

Mountain weather changes rapidly. Safety is our priority, and temporary delays due to lightning are common.

• Delays: If activities pause for weather but reopen at any point during the day, no refunds or credits will be issued.
• Total Closure: Resort Credits are only considered if management officially closes all operations for the remainder of the day before 2:00 PM.

Resort Credit Eligibility & Rates

To be eligible for a resort credit during an official total closure, you must present your ticket in person at the Purgatory Mountain Ticket Office within one hour of the closure announcement. Refunds are only available on the date of purchase. Resort Credit expires 10/31/2026.

A refund may be granted if inclement weather forces the resort to close for the remainder of the day before 2:00 PM. It is important to note that refunds are calculated based on ticket usage, not the time of ticket issuance. Refunds must be obtained on the date of purchase at the Ticket Office in person, and guest tickets are required at the time of the request.

• Lightning Warning – Zone 4 Strike (20-25 miles) – Be alert, lightning has been detected nearby.
• Lightning Temporary Suspension – Zone 3 Strike (10-20 miles) – Lift 4 Scenic Ride on hold for a minimum of 30 minutes.
• Lightning Temporary Suspension – Zone 2 Strike (5-10 miles) – All activities on hold for at least 30 minutes.
• LIGHTNING CRITICAL – Zone 1 Strike (<5 miles) – Seek shelter immediately! Temporary suspension of all operations for 30 minutes, or until no strikes have been detected within 10 miles. (Scenic Rides will be on hold until no strikes are shown within 20 miles)
