Activities & Weather

Operations update: Lift 1 will be closed July 6-7 for bike trail maintenance, erosion control, and  
expansion of the unloading deck at the top of the lift. Mountain bike uplift and scenic chairlift rides will be unavailable. The Inferno Mountain Coaster will be open July 6-7 during the closure. No shuttling of the bike park will be permitted.
Hiking is permitted on the World Champs uphill cross-country trail, forest roads and ski runs. For the safety of our guests and riders hiking is not permitted on downhill mountain biking trails. 

Cross-country trails not patrolled or maintained, ride at your own risk.

All summer activities are weather permitting. For current weather conditions and operating schedule, call the Main Ticket Office at 970-385-2168.

Purgatory Bike Park

**The Bike Park will be Closed July 6 & 7 for lift maintenance and trail work. Shuttling will not permitted on these days.** Purgatory Bike Park features podium-quality terrain, new trails, and an established pathway to the over 400 miles of backcountry singletrack that has put Durango on the map in the mountain bike hemisphere.

Inferno Mountain Coaster

**The Mountain Coaster will be open on Wednesday and Thursday July 6 & 7!** With a length of 4,000 feet, the Inferno mountain coaster zooms passengers through nine switchbacks, one 360-degree circle and multiple dips while covering over 300 vertical feet.

Alpine Slide

Feel the fresh wind in your face as you speed down the track, or take a leisurely ride and enjoy the spectacular views. The chairlift carries sliders up the mountain for a more than half-mile descent.

Day Ticket Activities

Purgatory Resort is offering six activities for the Summer 2022 season including the exciting Inferno Mountain Coaster and Durango’s only alpine slide. Activities will be offered in two sessions from 9:30am-1:30pm and 1:30pm-5:30pm.
