General Purpose

Provide support for various HR programs within Purgatory Resort. Handles and oversees special functions as designated.

 

Job Description

General: Maintain confidentiality of Human Resources related information.  Provide excellent customer service and respond to inquiries within twenty-four (24-48) hours. Greet, direct and/or assist walk-in guests and phone calls in a pleasant and professional manner.  Communicate with team to consistently distribute information in a timely manner.  Ensure department filing is manageable and complete in a timely manner.  Issue uniforms, employee recognition vouchers, gold pass, real deal, and other discount cards.  Complete employee processing paperwork.

 

Payroll: Be the main point of contact for all payroll questions and issues. Review biweekly timesheets for missed punches and final supervisor review/approval prior to payroll being processed. Compile and prepare batch items so they are ready to upload on payroll Mondays by 9 AM (this includes carpool, commissions, gratuity, ski school, retro pay, etc.)

 

Recruitment: Assist with volunteer and employee hiring fairs. Aid in the review of applicant tracking, background screening and ensuring hiring processes are consistent (i.e. reference checks, timely background screening).

 

Data Entry:  Complete and enter paperwork on new hires, re-hires, volunteers and terminations. Ensure data is accurate and timely and create a system for quality control.

 

Employee Functions: Assist with employee recognition functions such as holiday parties, reward programs, perquisites.

Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Working knowledge of professional office procedures; good grammar, spelling, typing, and

proofreading skills; and basic word processing skills are necessary. Basic computer skills

necessary, must be able to multi task and work in a fast paced office environment.

Concentration, initiative, memory, speaking ability and tactile discrimination necessary.

 

Able to work weekends as needed.

 

Education/Formal Training: Bachelors degree in business administration, or similar. Will consider experience and certification in lieu of degree.

 

Experience:  A minimum of two (2) years experience in a business environment, human resources exposure or expertise is preferred.

Material and Equipment Directly Used: Computer, simple office equipment, uniforms, washer and dryer, vacuum cleaner, household cleaning agents. 

Working environment/Physical Activities:

98% of the work day is spent indoors, in a normal office environment.  50% of the workday is spent sitting, 30% standing and 20% walking. 2% of the work day will be spent in an outdoors environment in variable conditions including but not limited to snow, ice, wind, sun and rain.

Occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds. Constantly engaging in normal conversation, in person and over the phone.  Frequently reaching, balancing, stooping, use of near and far acuity, color and field of vision. Occasionally climbing, balancing, stooping. Potential exposure to mechanical and electrical hazards.  This is a non-skiing position.
