Purgatory was stoked to once again host the Motorcycle Hill Climb, and the crowds rolled in to watch the excitement over Labor Day weekend.
The Moto Hill Climb Super Series was a slightly different format than events Purgatory has hosted before. That didn’t stop them from bringing a new kind of excitement and talent to the slopes of Purgatory. This was the last stop of the series, and the competition was clearly on. While Durango may have been used to muscle bikes and Harley’s trudging up the hill, this competition was a game of speed on sport bikes of a different breed. Ultimately, it was rider Jon Wolfson who took the gold. With a best time of 15.108 seconds, he snagged the overall title.
But don’t worry, the hooligans were still around. Where they may not have excelled in… well… climbing, they won over the hearts of the crowd and definitely won in popularity (even if they were sort of falling apart). Overall, we were extremely happy to host this event again. We can’t wait to see what next year has to offer!
