Welcome to Ski Season 2023/2024!
It’s official! We’re kicking off the 2023/2024 ski season this Saturday, November 18th. First chair takes off at 9:00am, and we can’t wait!
We’d like to give a huge shout-out to our snowmaking team who has been hard at work the past few weeks to build a quality base for opening day!
We’re planning to be open and having a blast daily, from this Saturday, November 18th through Sunday, April 14, 2024 (then it’s Fridays – Sundays through April 28th). Stay tuned for more updates and information as we get this season rolling!
What terrain will be open?
Guests will load Lift 1 (Purgatory Express) at the base and can then lap Lift 2 (Engineer) on West Fork and El Diablo. The Headwaters Terrain Park will also be open with 3 tube and 2 box features. Return to the base by riding Lift 1 back down.
Everyone is welcome on opening day, but due to early-season conditions, please be advised that no beginner or low-level intermediate terrain will be available. Please refer to the snow report for the most up-to-date information regarding open lifts, trails, and snow data throughout the season.
There will be no access via the Columbine Lift. Please use resort shuttles if you park in the Columbine lot.

Prices go up the closer we get to opening day! Check out our variable pricing calendar to find ticket rates and make your purchase!
If you’ll be visiting for 4 to 7 days this winter, check out our multi-day flex tickets and enjoy a rest day of your choice during your visit.
Pro Tip: If you have your Purg Card from last season, you can skip the ticket office. After purchasing your lift tickets, just “activate” your Purg Card via the link in your confirmation email and enter your existing Purg Card number.

What else can you do on opening day?
Catch a ride on the Mountain Coaster! Weather and conditions permitting, we’ll be running the coaster 10:00am – 4:00pm on the following dates!
- November: 18-26
- December: 2-3, 9-10, 16-17 and 23-31
- January: 1-7, 13-14, 20-21 and 27-28
- February: 3-4, 10-11, 17-18 and 24-25
- March 2-3 and 9-17

The Bear Bar 10:30am – 4:30 pm

Let’s do opening day right:
– Enjoy FREE pancakes with “POWDER”ed sugar and syrup, cooked on a griddle right at the lift from 8:00am to 9:30am.
– Catch some live music with The Quarks on Purgy’s Patio from 1:00pm to 4:00pm
Let’s Have Fun Out There (and be safe!): Skiing is fun and we are stoked to be able to get out there. Purgatory reminds skiers and riders that safety is a top priority when early season conditions exist. Stay on open trails, keep speed in check, and maintain a safe distance from others on the mountain. We look forward to welcoming you back for another exciting season on the slopes!
